Mattress Seller Endy Names New President, General Manager

Experienced marketing and sales executive Jason Cassidy is the new president and general manager of Endy.

Cassidy was named to the position in May, succeeding Alexandra Voyevodina-Wang who will step away from the Canadian sleep retailer at the end of June.

“I’ve always thought food was the most important thing in the world, which is why I’ve worked most of my career in that vertical,” said Cassidy in a LinkedIn post about his new role. “Then I had two daughters and realized sleep is perhaps more important.”

Cassidy joins Endy from Porta, where he served as general manager and then president in addition to being co-founder of the consumer packaged goods frozen food business. Prior to this, Cassidy worked as vice-president of marketing strategy at Tim Hortons. His experience also includes serving as head of marketing for Yum! brands KFC and Pizza Hut.

“I am incredibly grateful to Alexandra, Stewart Schaefer and the Sleep Country Canada team for giving me the opportunity to lead this powerhouse Canadian brand into its next phase of growth,” said Cassidy in the same post.

Voyevodina-Wang led the direct-to-consumer mattress brand since late 2020, after being promoted from chief financial officer.

“Since joining Endy in 2016, I’ve had the privilege to witness and contribute to our phenomenal growth,” said Voyevodina-Wang in her own LinkedIn post. “Together, we’ve transformed Endy into Canada’s leading online mattress brand, winning multiple awards and being recognized by Great Place to Work for six consecutive years.”

Launched in 2015, as a pure play e-commerce mattress company, Endy has expanded its product line to offer a well-rounded selection of bedroom necessities, including rugs, bedding, mattress protectors, bed frames and a nightstand. Last year, the company stepped into brick-and-mortar with the opening of its first physical store at CF Sherway Gardens in Toronto’s west end.
