Danish Furniture Retailer Continues Canadian Expansion
Home furnishings and solutions retailer JYSK has continued to grow its Canadian footprint, opening three more stores in recent months.
New locations can be found in Montreal, Bridgewater, N.S., and Campbell River, B.C.
“We’ve been working hard to offer a unique shopping experience,” says retail manager Paul Bouchard about the stores in Quebec and Nova Scotia, which opened in December of last year. “While providing excellent service and reliable quality, we enjoy helping customers with our product knowledge and expertise. (These) new stores offer our customers a great layout with JYSK products set up and displayed, as you would like to see them in your own home.”
The Montreal and Nova Scotia locations are 25,000 square feet. Nathalie Thibeault is district manager for both.
The store in Campbell River is 23,000 square feet. It can be found at Discovery Harbour Shopping Centre.
JYSK says it is among the world’s fastest growing retailers with more than 3,300 stores in 48 countries. The brand is known for its Scandinavian-inspired designs that are appealing for their modern simplicity and low prices.
The Danish company is owned by the family behind Lars Larsen Group. JYSK opened its first Canadian store in Coquitlam, B.C., in 1996. There are currently more than 60 stores across the country in all provinces except New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador.
