British Columbia Gets its First Ikea Planning Centre
Ikea Canada has opened its first ‘plan and order point’ store in the country’s westernmost province.
The Abbotsford, B.C., location is unlike the massive stores that Lower Mainland shoppers are used to. With a commercial area of just 5,790 square feet, it offers up to 100 products for immediate purchase and takeaway.
Inside the smaller-scale store, consumers will find 10 kitchen, nine bedroom, four bathroom and two living room display inspirations. One-on-one design and planning services are available by appointment for the brand’s home furnishing solutions.
A grand opening celebration was held Dec. 11.
“This opening is more than just a new location. It’s a promise to Abbotsford that Ikea will continue to innovate and adapt to meet the needs of its residents,” says Christophe Adrien, market manager of Ikea Coquitlam. “By creating jobs, supporting local initiatives and partnering with organizations that make a difference, we are committed to building a better everyday life, not just inside homes but across this great city.”
The new Abbotsford store is located at 32700 South Fraser Way, Unit 80. It’s opening makes it the 11th ‘plan and order point’ across Canada.
