Family-owned Canadel Expanding into Bedroom Furniture

Casual dining furniture specialist Canadel is entering the bedroom category following its acquisition of Canadian manufacturer JLM in fall 2025, including its designs, customer lists and production capabilities.

According to Home News Now, the family-owned company moved all of JLM’s production to its manufacturing facilities in Louisville, Que., earlier this year.

Because the purchase did not include the JLM name, the bedroom line will be marketed under a newly created brand called NAD Home.

The new category is expected to serve both the residential and contract/hospitality markets.

NAD Home currently offers 14 bedroom furniture collections featuring beds, nightstands and dressers in a range of styles.

Canadel vice-president of sales Mathieu Roy told Home News Now that the company plans to sell the category across Canada. Its goal is to bring the line to the United States in the second half of 2027, following its debut at High Point Market next spring.

Before the acquisition, JLM’s products were sold primarily in Quebec, with a presence in parts of Ontario.

Over time, bedroom furniture could account for 10 per cent of Canadel’s overall business, said Roy, although it would continue to be sold under the NAD Home brand rather than the Canadel name.
