Premier Furniture Industry Trade Fair Coming to India

Koelnmesse Pvt Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of Koelnmesse GmbH, has announced the launch of a new business-to-business event, IMM India.

The exhibition, created in collaboration with several leading Indian associations, is poised to host major furniture, furnishing and interior associated exhibitors, and attract more than 5,000 buyers from India and across the world.

“We are creating an unparalleled opportunity for Indian manufacturers to showcase their innovation and reach international buyers, while simultaneously offering global purchasers access to the vast potential of Indian craftsmanship and production,” says Milind Dixit, managing director of Koelnmesse Pvt Ltd. “Our collective focus is on delivering a world-class platform that fosters strong partnerships, drives exports and elevates India’s position on the global interior business map.”

IMM India will showcase a comprehensive range of interior solutions, encompassing residential and contract furniture, commercial establishment systems, outdoor living, lighting, floor and wall coverings, textiles, decorative accessories and specialized segments like kitchen interiors. It will also spotlight innovative trends in sustainable materials, integrated technology, modular designs and a unique fusion of traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics.

The launch of IMM India comes at a pivotal time for the Indian interior sector. Propelled by increasing disposable incomes, rapid urbanization and a dynamic retail environment, the Indian furniture market — a significant component of the broader interior business — is experiencing substantial growth. Valued at approximately $23.8 billion US in 2024, it is projected to nearly double to $44.2 billion US by 2033.

Further, India’s furniture and handicrafts exports are on an upward trajectory, with a notable growth of four per cent in shipments between November 2023 and October 2024, targeting key markets like the United States, Europe and the Middle East. IMM India aims to accelerate this growth and firmly establish the country as a global interior business sourcing hub.

“This event is a monumental step for the Indian interior business, providing our members and the wider industry with an unparalleled global stage,” says Bharat Dinesh, president of Jodhpur Handicrafts Exporters Association. “It’s an opportunity to showcase the richness and diversity of Indian design, foster crucial international partnerships and significantly boost our presence in the global market.”

IMM India is geo-clone of renowned IMM Cologne. It will serve as a vital platform for both India’s burgeoning domestic market and its rapidly growing international export capabilities.

“Bringing the proven concept of IMM Cologne to India, in collaboration with such esteemed local associations, is a natural progression and a testament to the immense potential of the Indian market,” says Gerald Böse, president and CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH. “This joint effort ensures a truly representative and impactful event, facilitating significant global business connections and propelling the industry forward.”

IMM India will debut March 11-14, 2026, at Yashobhoomi convention centre in New Delhi.
