Urban Barn Celebrates Coast-to-Coast Presence
Canadian-owned furniture and home decor retailer Urban Barn has unveiled its first store on the East Coast.
Located in Halifax, at Dartmouth Crossing, it officially opened Aug. 14.
“We’re incredibly excited,” says Urban Barn director of marketing Ainslie Fincham. “Opening in Dartmouth Crossing allows local shoppers to explore our curated collections firsthand and find inspiration that reflects both their lifestyle and their space.”
A celebratory event will take place Aug. 23. It will feature exclusive giveaways, in-store promotions and special touches inspired by local Nova Scotia brands.
The new store was originally slated to open this past spring. It marks the company’s 55th location and makes it a Canada-wide brand.
Urban Barn was founded in Vancouver in 1990, by childhood friends Rick Bohonis and Craig Stewart. The premiere retail location featured rustic wooden floors and a barn-style door, which inspired the company’s name.
