Ikea Unveils Eighth ‘Plan and Order Point’ Store in Canada
Ikea Canada has opened a ‘plan and order point’ store in Barrie, Ont.
The new store, which began welcoming customers June 28, is located at 33 Mapleview Dr. West in the SmartCentres Barrie South shopping centre. It replaces the Ikea planning studio in Georgian Mall.
“After seeing such a positive response to Ikea from the Barrie community, we’re thrilled to expand this customized service and further elevate the experience of helping customers create the spaces of their dreams that meet their evolving needs at home,” says Inna Romagnoli, country business development and transformation manager for Ikea Canada. “As the cost of living continues to rise and everything from groceries to gas becomes less affordable, it has become our priority to offer more affordable, functional and inspiring home furnishing solutions to Canadians — no matter where they live or how they choose to shop with us.”
Plan and order point stores allow customers to get support from Ikea experts to plan, order and purchase home furnishings for the kitchen, bedroom, bath and living room. According to the furniture retailer, design services are offered on a walk-in and appointment basis.
Products are not available for immediate takeaway at plan and order points; instead, customers can explore and discover a curated selection of Ikea solutions to meet their home furnishing needs.
Once their order is placed, they can have it delivered directly to their homes or to the local pick-up point.
Including Barrie, there are eight such locations across Canada, five of which are in Ontario. The other three are in Quebec.
