Style Garage Among Winners of Best Booth at IDS 2024

The sun may have set on the 2024 Interior Design Show (IDS) in Toronto, but show-goers are still talking about the four-day design fair.

One of the highlights for exhibitors were the booth awards, announced Jan. 20. Given annually in recognition of the high-quality of exhibition design on the show floor, a panel of four judges decided the winners of 10 awards, which included Style Garage and Objects & Ideas.

Specializing in locally designed, custom-made furniture and fixtures for residential, retail and corporate applications, Style Garage was recognized for its 200-square-foot booth. The company has been on the Toronto home furnishings scene since 2000. The original Gus Modern retailer occupies a two-storey showroom on Ossington Avenue in the trendy Trinity-Bellwoods area of the city. Its flagship line of Originals is designed in-house and made-to-order in Canada, supporting local craftspeople and featuring locally-source sustainable materials.

Objects & Ideas’ booth won in the 50-square-foot to 199-square-foot category. Founded in 2015, the design studio’s founders Di Tao and Bob Dodd view furniture and lighting as art. This lends to the creation of products that fulfill more than just a functional need.

2024 was a celebratory year for the design show, as it marked its 25th anniversary. The show kicked off Jan. 18, with an opening night party that brought together more than 6,000 design aficionados, and ran for its usual four days. Highlights included an expanded speaker lineup, immersive installations and a trade show floor filled with exhibitors from industry-leading design brands.

The full list of booth winners can be found on the show’s website.

IDS returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in 2025, from Jan. 23-26.
