Silk & Snow Launches First Brick-and-Mortar Location

Sleep Country Canada has launched its first store that includes one of its newest brands, Silk & Snow.

Located in Ottawa’s Westboro neighbourhood, this is the premier brick-and-mortar location for the sleep and lifestyle retailer.

The joint venture provides an expanded offering of sleep essentials in one shopping experience.

“We’re very excited to bring Silk & Snow, a leading direct-to-consumer brand into its very first tactile environment,” says Sleep Country president and CEO Stewart Schaefer. “Customers in Ottawa have shown a love for the brand, so it just makes sense for us to introduce its inaugural in-person shopping experience in this market.”

The new Sleep Country store, which opened Oct. 28, is anchored by a dedicated 1,425-square-foot Silk & Snow shop that fuses the brand’s two signature aesthetics — Japandi, a combination of Japanese and Scandinavian design, and mid-century modern styles. Silk & Snow worked with renowned architecture firm Benoy on the store’s design to create an elevated, serene atmosphere complemented with accents of wood, stone and ceramics. The Silk & Snow portion of the collaborative store opened Nov. 22.

“With our immersive new location, we’re finally able to showcase our offering in a physical environment, creating opportunities for customers to interact with the product and find the perfect piece to elevate their sleep and, ultimately, their home,” says Silk & Snow CEO Albert Chow.

Founded in 2017, by Chow and Kenneth Mo, Silk & Snow has seen rapid growth. Its product offerings include mattresses, bedding, furniture, sleep accessories and bath essentials like towels and robes.

Sleep Country acquired Silk & Snow in early 2023, for approximately $24 million. Other brands under the Sleep Country umbrella include Endy, Casper, Hush and Dormez-vous, which operates solely in Quebec.
