Premier Edition of IDD Cologne Drawing Strong Interest
Interior Design Days (IDD) Cologne is garnering a positive response well ahead of its inaugural debut this fall.
Based on sales during the early-bird registration period, which closed at the end of May, show organizer Koelnmesse says it is clear the new trade fair geared to the interior design community is attracting great interest.
Many renowned brands have confirmed their appearance at the event by placing binding registrations. They include Bacher Tische, Bloom, Bretz, Brühl Sippold, Bielefelder Werkstätten + IP, COR, Draenert, F.Fertig Strässle, interlübke, Jori, Kettnaker, KFF, Mobitec, Möller Design, Müller Möfabr, Piure, raumplus, Rodam, Scholtissek, Schramm, Signet, Stern, Sudbrock, Thonet and Werther.
“The current level of registrations reflects the high interest in the new format and demonstrates the need for a central platform for the premium segment in Germany,” says Maik Fischer, director of IDD Cologne. “We are confident that we will be able to secure further prestigious brands in the coming weeks.”
Organizers say they are particularly pleased with the steadily growing interest from key European markets for the furniture industry and from Germany’s neighbours. Following initial discussions with premium European manufacturers, the participation of a Norwegian exhibitor group has already been confirmed. The pavilion will be organized by Innovation Norway.
As exhibitor sales continue, preparations for IDD Cologne downtown, an accompanying program of events in the city’s centre, are also gaining momentum. Around 25 retailers, flagship stores and design and creative centres operating in the premium segment have signed up and begun planning special promotions to coincide with the dates of the trade fair.
IDD Cologne will run Oct. 26-29, occupying two halls at Koelnmesse. Guided by its central theme, Shaping Homes and Hospitality, the trade fair will focus on exclusive interior design for both private residences and commercial spaces.
