King Koil Canada Parts Ways with Mirabel Mattress
King Koil Canada is expanding into Quebec with a direct sales model once again.
The sleep system company has ended its long-time relationship with Mirabel Mattress, effective Jan. 1. Laval-based Mirabel had been King Koil’s sole licensee in the province for more than 15 years.
The decision to part ways was mutual, according to a statement issued by the company.
“We are grateful for the fruitful partnership we’ve had with Guy Tousignant, Daniel Charlebois and the whole team at Mirabel Mattress,” says King Koil Canada vice-president Alykhan Sunderji. “We felt it was time to go back to a direct relationship model with retail partners in Canada’s second largest province.”
With this change, the company has welcomed Mario Barbieri to serve as the new territory sales representative in Quebec.

Barbieri brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the King Koil team. Having previously worked with Sealy Canada and Serta Simmons Bedding, he has built a strong reputation and established valuable relationships within Quebec.
“His connections will greatly enhance our efforts as we look to strengthen our presence and offer exceptional products to our customers,” says Sunderji.
King Koil will enter the Quebec market in the first few months of 2025, with its recently revamped World Luxury and Spine Support lineup of beds produced in its Toronto-area factory.
“We already have a strong and quick shipping network to mostly every region in (the province) with a well-respected speciality shipper so we are ready to start the year strong in Quebec,” says Sunderji.
King Koil is part of Park Avenue Furniture, a Canadian owned and operated group of companies that also includes Posture Beauty sleep products.
