Surya Marks Half-century Milestone at High Point Market
Surya will kick off its 50th year celebrations with a party at this spring’s High Point Market.
The home furnishings resource will host the event in its flagship showroom (Showplace 4100) on April 25, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Designers, partners and industry leaders will enjoy cocktails and light bites as the company marks the milestone and raises a glass to its future.
“Fifty years is not only a reflection of where we’ve been, it’s a foundation for what comes next,” says Surya president Satya Tiwari.
Surya was founded in 1976 by Satya’s father Surya. It began as a small, family business grounded in a deep appreciation for craft and an unwavering commitment to serving its customers.
Under Satya’s leadership, the company has grown exponentially into a leading resource for furniture, rugs, textiles, lighting, wall decor and accessories. It has also evolved into a multi-brand portfolio that includes Surya, Global Views and Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
“Reaching this milestone is both humbling and inspiring,” says Satya. “What began as my father’s vision has grown through the strength of our partnerships and the dedication of our teams. We’ve expanded our reach across categories and brands, but our focus remains the same — creating meaningful products, supporting the designers and communities we serve, and enriching the spaces we help bring to life.”
Throughout the year, Surya will continue to commemorate its semi-centennial anniversary through a series of initiatives. These moments will be paired with storytelling that highlights the makers behind the products, evolution of its collections and brands, and the relationships that have shaped the business.
