Interior Design Show Returns to Toronto for its 26th Year
Interior Design Show (IDS) Toronto opens its doors Jan. 23, for its usual four-day run at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The 26th edition of the show will feature 250 exhibitors, more than 70 of which are new and returning. Highlights include lighting and furniture brands like hollis+morris (whose founder Misha Couvrette joins the main stage), Montreal-based De Gaspé, eco- and child-friendly furniture manufacturer Fern Kids and Eureka Lighting. Returning exhibitor Silva Custom Furniture will debut a new collection by Calgary-based Aly Velji.
Italy’s renowned influence on design will take centre stage. For the first time, Salone del Mobile Milano, the world’s premier design event, will host a Canadian preview on the show floor. A pavilion by the Italian Trade Commission will be featured, showcasing 10 companies like modern home furnishings manufacturer Calligaris.
The Prototype and Studio North sections have doubled in size this year, and will showcase new and up-and-coming designers.
Show-goers looking for some downtime can take a seat on a selection of EQ3’s furniture in the lounge, next to the IDS bistro.
IDS celebrates and promotes the best in global and Canadian design, from emerging designers to legacy brands. The show hosts the most influential design minds of today and is a platform to launch never-before-seen products and solutions for the future.
