Man held in McCabe’s death
KITCHENER, Ontario – According to the Waterloo Region Record, Adam McCabe faces a charge of second degree murder in the death of Ronald Morgan McCabe, a former senior executive with Home Furniture.
The newspaper – along with both CBC and CTV News – said Waterloo Regional Police were called to the AR Goudie home here at about 9:30pm on March 7, 2016 where Adam McCabe, 32, was arrested.
Adam McCabe appeared briefly in a Kitchener courtroom the following afternoon, where in addition to second degree murder – which refers to a non-premediated killing – he faces a separate charge related to a breach of probation for not complying with an order to avoid alcohol and drugs.
The Record noted an autopsy was to be conducted to determine the cause of death and a police spokesman did not say how the victim died.
During Adam McCabe’s appearance, the court imposed a publication ban on any information concerning evidence in the case and he was told not to associate with nine witnesses. He is expected to remain in custody until his next court appearance on March 16.
