Turquoise Palace opens SOFA showroom
TORONTO – Home décor resource Turquoise Palace has opened a new permanent showroom in the SOFA annex of the International Centre here.
The showroom is located in suite 203A.
“With our new showroom space, we can truly immerse designers in a complete cultural and luxury lifestyle experience,” said Pamela Arora, who co-founded Turquoise Palace with partner Tanya Sharma in 2011. “We want our customers to have moments of discovery when they pick up a hand painted throw pillow or hear the story of how our metal weave ottoman was made by the age-old skills of a master craftsman.”
“We continue to be inspired by the colours, textures and cultural influences of global design,” added Sharma. “Our aesthetic is authentic and approachable. It is the attention to handmade detail that will always be central to our story. We are committed, as always, to offering our clients signature products and unmatched service.”
“The SOFA community is proud to be a part of Turquoise Palace’s growth trajectory over the last few years and to witness firsthand the company’s path to success,” said Linda Kafka, SOFA managing director. “Tanya and Pamela’s unwavering commitment to the company and passion for great design inspires us every day.”
Turquoise Palace works with Indian artisans who work in silks, cottons, seasoned woods and metals. Its product assortment covers a range of décor categories including occasional furniture, linens and accessories such as pillows, mirrors and other accents.
“Quite simply, this means that we want people to feel good about putting our treasures into their homes because they have been made in an environment where workers are treated with respect and paid fair wages for their skills,” Arora said.
“In the world of business today, where the refrain is often about declining growth and ever increasing competition from emerging markets, it is good to see that a small business like Turquoise Palace could use SOFA as its platform for incubation and growth,” said Michael Prescott, chief executive officer, International Centre.
