Hollis+Morris Expands into Upholstery

Canadian contemporary wood furniture and lighting design studio Hollis+Morris has expanded into upholstery with the launch of its Riverside capsule collection.

Designed by founder and creative director Mischa Couvrette, the line was born out of his desire to furnish his family’s newly built home in Toronto. He discovered a gap in the market for contemporary, sustainable and spatially conscious furniture, which led to the collection’s creation.

The line includes the brand’s first-ever fully upholstered pieces, the swivel Shoal lounge chair and Riverside sofa with its slightly elevated back, as well as the three-leg Levee side table and coffee table in walnut or white oak, and softly curved Ripple bed.

Celebrating 10 years in business in 2024, Hollis+Morris recently opened a new studio in Toronto. Measuring 14,000 square feet, it features a studio where furniture and lighting pieces are prototyped and designed, on-site manufacturing capabilities and the company’s first public showroom all under one roof.
