Even More New Debuts at High Point Market

By Clare Tattersall

Tick-tock goes the clock. As the countdown to High Point Market continues, we follow up on our feature on new furniture products with a look at additional home furnishings debuting at this spring’s trade fair — all available to Canadian retailers. From lighting to bedding and area rugs, here are seven introductions that have caught our team’s eye.

Aristocrat pendant from Varaluz.

The Aristrocat foyer pendant from Varaluz (Market Square — 290, Floor 2) channels the glamour of art deco through a supernova of structure. Its dimensional six-pointed star motif bursts forward in radiant form, while hand-hammered spindles — like solar flares frozen mid-glow — allow light to shimmer and dance through. Finished in a stately mix of hand-applied dark bronze and aged gold, Aristocrat is designed to hang in rooms with significant vertical space.

Montauk bedding collection from Barrett Bergman Home.

Reminiscent of dunes and rugged coastline, the Montauk bedding collection from Barrett Bergman Home (IHFC — IH207, IH210, Commerce, Floor 1) pairs a cool palette with an artful mix of textures to create an inviting escape. Contrasting with the striated sateen, deep ocean-blue checkered velour belts add a plush, luxurious feel.

Toffee table lamp from Jamie Young Co.

The hand-cast ceramic Toffee table lamp with beige linen shade from Jamie Young Co. (IHFC — D223, IH505, Design Centre, Floor 2) features subtle tones of cider and toffee, which add warmth and create an internal glow even when unlit. Reactive glazing naturally produces distinctive variations in colour and pattern, making each lamp unique. At nearly 30 inches high, the lamp is ideal for large-scale table placement in both casual and formal interiors.

Vista collection from Exquisite Rugs.

The Vista collection from Exquisite Rugs (IHFC — H204, Hamilton, Floor 2) reimagines contemporary design with its dramatic high-low patterns and colour palette — beige, grey-blue and mocha beige. An all-over organic and eclectic bamboo silk pattern emerges from a wool flat weave foundation to create visual depth and dimension.

Favo pendant from Quorum.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese architecture and art deco design, the Favo pendant from Quorum (Suites at Market Square — M-1000A, M-1000B, Mezzanine) creates a reserved yet stately presence. The satin opal glass softens the light from the long-lasting integrated LEDs, while the brushed brass finish adds a rich, warm feel, creating a harmonious blend between the two elements. Available in two pendant sizes — 24 and 12 inches — a multi-port pendant and a wall sconce.

Rosaline comforter set from HiEnd Accents.

The Rosaline comforter set from HiEnd Accents (Showplace — 2500, Floor 2) features delicate florals — cabbage roses — and a soft palette of blue, blush, taupe and white. It’s made from the company’s signature linen blend, delivering the look and feel of linen but without the creases. Layer with textured throws for a cozier, softer feel, or accent with pillows and shams for a romantic or western-style bedroom.

Sterling rug from Momeni.

The Sterling rug from Momeni (IHFC — H345, Hamilton, Floor 3) blends lustrous sari silk with hand-spun jute, creating a refined interplay of sheen and organic texture. Subtle vertical striping and rich tonal variation bring depth and movement to each colour: ivory, natural, navy and slate. Available in a 15-foot width with a high-low construction, and made-to-order in custom sizing.
