Cyncly Acquisition Expands Furniture Manufacturing Platform
Cyncly, a provider of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven software for the spaces-for-living industry, has acquired software company imos, adding computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), integration and automation capabilities to its portfolio.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen Cyncly’s ability to help furniture manufacturers of all sizes move seamlessly from initial sketch to final production.
“Imos supports the engineering middle of manufacturers’ workflows, which means what a designer creates is precisely what the machine produces,” says Cyncly CEO Anand Krishnan. “Together, we’ll help the entire furniture manufacturing industry run more accurately and efficiently.”
Headquartered in Germany, imos develops software for panel-based custom and semi-custom furniture. Its technology converts design information into validated parametric constructions and production-ready data, including optimized nesting and CNC-ready outputs.
Cyncly says the addition of imos fills a key part of the manufacturing process, moving the company closer to its vision of becoming a single, AI-enabled manufacturing platform that supports customers across their entire workflow.
“The gap between a finished design and a machine-ready file is where manufacturers lose the most time and accuracy, and that is exactly the gap imos closes,” says Andrea Gnoato, general manager of Cyncly’s kitchen, bathroom and furniture manufacturing solutions.
Cyncly’s acquisition of imos builds on a years-long working relationship. Imos will continue to operate its existing customer-facing teams and support structure, while gaining access to Cyncly’s research and development resources, global organization and AI-focused software development.
Imos serves more than 5,000 manufacturers in 100 countries, ranging from smaller craft operations to large industrial producers.
