Cozey Opens Permanent Retail Location in Alberta

Canadian furniture brand Cozey has opened its third brick-and-mortar store in less than two years.

It’s newest and largest retail location is in Calgary, found in the city’s Beltline neighbourhood.

“This market sees our third highest volume of Canadian sales after Toronto and Vancouver, so it was a natural next destination,” says Cozey CEO and founder Frédéric Aubé. “Growing our physical retail presence is a big priority as we know how valuable it is for our customers, existing and potential, to see our products in real life in order to better visualize the endless possibilities available for their homes.”

Like Cozey’s other stores, the showroom is furnished with its expanding line of modular furniture products, including its signature sofas and first-ever bedroom collection. The space, once occupied by another furniture retailer, is 5,500 square feet, nearly 2,000 square feet larger than its other Canadian locations.

Cozey opened its first retail store in Toronto in March 2024, and then a showroom in Vancouver this past November.

Additional openings are slated for the coming months, both pop-up and permanent, across Canada and the United States. In this country, a Montreal location is expected to debut in late spring or early summer, followed by a store in Edmonton, targeted for before year-end.

Cozey also plans to expand its Toronto flagship. Aubé told Retail Insider that the tenant above the existing store recently vacated, providing an opportunity to build out a second floor to address space constraints.
