10 Must-see Furniture Pieces at Fall High Point Market

By Clare Tattersall

The countdown is on for this fall’s High Point Market. Just over a week away from the trade-only event’s kick-off, anticipation is rising among retail buyers, interior designers and the like, who will converge on the destination location for the market’s usual five-day run. From Oct. 25-29, they’ll be on the prowl, hunting down the newest debuts among other items at the world’s largest home furnishings industry trade show. Here are new-to-market products that have caught our team’s eye and will be on full display in one of 17 Andmore-owned buildings, all manufactured by Canadian companies or available to retailers in this country.

Its channel-tufted backrest and seat create a structured yet plush look, while gently sloped armrests and a curved profile enhance its inviting appeal. With clean stitching and sturdy wooden legs, it’s a stylish and practical addition to any living room.

Gatsby sideboard from Bassett Furniture.

Mid-century modern design inspired the Gatsby sideboard from Bassett Furniture (IHFC — C1200, Commerce, Floor 12). Wrapped front and back in top grain leather, its three natural cane front doors and three suede-lined drawers rest on a brass-finished metal base. The shelves behind each of the doors are removable but not adjustable — they can be placed either leather or suede side up. The soft-close drawers feature European-style hinges and powder-coated brass metal knobs.

Mymi outdoor dining table from Dedon.

The Mymi outdoor dining table, designed by GamFratesi for Dedon (313 Space — 214, Floor 2), is inspired by the café culture of Paris, where small tables foster both lively conversation and quiet moments of solitude. The line is feminine yet structured, retro yet contemporary, and infused with artisanal details — a woven base for the table. Its fibre striations evoke the texture and fluidity of modern stripes or traditional cultural garments, while its shape requires a custom mould construction to achieve its porcelain-cup-like form. The colour palette draws hues from layers of soil, vegetation, flowers, water and sky.

Fern outdoor lounge chair from Gloster.

The Fern lounge chair is an expansion of the 2019 collection by Sebastian Herkner for Gloster (313 Space — 214, Floor 2). Initially produced with handcrafted teak, Fern has debuted a new sturdy, powder-coated aluminum frame, combining practicality with the soft, cozy, organic aesthetic of the original design. Enveloped with a woven outdoor rope, this seating takes its inspiration from the delicate fronds of a fern leaf, embodying a natural motif with a peaceful character that invites lengthy relaxation. Available in a dark meteor or a lighter bone colour palette.

Wynn desk from Greenington.

The Wynn writing desk from Greenington (220 Elm — 410, Level 4) is where sculptural elegance meets purposeful design. Crafted in solid bamboo, the fluid, organically shaped top exudes modern sophistication. Its distinctive base — shaped with graceful curves and a floating drawer pedestal — offers both visual intrigue and practical storage.

Liam desk from Union Home.

The Liam desk from Union Home (IHFC — IH310, Commerce, Floor 1) makes an elegant statement, showcasing a natural oak exterior with vanilla-finished cabinets in a soft natural stain. It’s thoughtfully detailed with brass hardware, hinged doors and dual storage drawers.
